Eight Turbines in 12 months for Palm Giant Astra in Indonesia

NG Metalurgica turbine for Astra Agro Lestari, Indonesia.
Since November 2012, Jebsen & Jessen Technology – Energy Division has secured repeated orders from Astra Agro Lestari (AAL) totalling eight units of NG backpressure multistage steam turbines for their palm oil mill co-generation needs. Part of Indonesian conglomerate Astra International, AAL is one of the country’s largest palm oil businesses.
The pivot to the success of these orders hinged on the high service level provided by the Medan Service Team led by Mr Rheinhard Napitupulu, Service Manager: “Astra Agro Lestari is a strategic account; a very high service level is needed in order to have recurring business in both new equipment and after-sales service.”
Mr Michael Nielsen, President Director of Jebsen & Jessen Technology Indonesia, added: “The team in Malaysia has driven the relationship with the customer and provided the technical delivery. Locally our team of 16 in Indonesia including our Service Team based in Medan, Sumatra, has ensured ongoing success, with high-quality, responsive after-sales service. Together we ensure that Astra continues to work with us as a regional trusted partner.”
The Energy Division in Malaysia has been in continuous collaboration with NG Metalurgica, its steam turbine technology partner, to improve solutions for the palm oil sector, meeting the evolving needs of the regional market. Mr Steve Ng, General Manager – Energy for Jebsen & Jessen Technology Malaysia, said: “Our mature relationship with NG and deep knowledge of the market’s needs enables us to continuously tune our solutions and stay relevant to the targeted sectors we serve.”
